Born into the woods, lakes, streams and backroads of Northern Michigan, I grew up with a love and appreciation of the outdoors that so few in my profession have been afforded. Burt, Mullett, Black and Lakes Huron and Michigan were at my doorstep as well as the wildlife and so many rivers and streams. Although I currently love and make my home in Ann Arbor and Detroit areas where I finished my formal education and where I currently practice my profession, my bond with nature and appreciation for the woods waters and natural surroundings in general was embedded in me at an early age and has never changed. I love the outdoors and nearly all of everything that nature offers in this entire area.

As a resident, real estate attorney, former real estate broker and current Lake Property Specialist in Michigan, my practice within Lake Property Law, PLC includes most counties in the Lower Peninsula and the Eastern U.P. I graduated from the University of Michigan and Detroit College of Law over 40 years ago and have practiced as a township and city attorney, road commission attorney for 3 counties and in many other areas of real estate in Northern Michigan for many years. I also practiced in many other areas of the law but it is my experiences in practicing in the field of real estate that have been varied and extensive from rural and urban, governmental and private, corporate and individual, large acreage and small condominiums, subdivisions and site condominiums. Whatever the real property matter, I can assure you that I highly understand and value titles and lesser interests. However, and despite my familiarity with many real estate practice areas, I currently devote my efforts solely to the Public Land Survey System, the Submerged Lands Act, the Supremacy of Federal Patents, the Supremacy Clause, itself, and the Public Trust Doctrine as applied to our lands and waters in Michigan. These federal subject matter areas constitute the supreme law of the land

The subject matter that I have concentrated in for the last many years is the very basic but intricate water law that was largely the work of Thomas Jefferson in the Land Ordinance of 1785. It marked the beginning of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) which identified, forever, our lands and waters. That body of law remains very much controlling of lands and waters in this state and 29 others lying westerly of the original colonies to the Pacific Ocean. The Public Land Survey System determined titles of lands and bottomlands, forever. This body of law has taken me back to its very basics which mandates a knowledge of the U.S Constitution, federal statutes and case law regarding surveys and sale of lands gy the federal government from the beginnings of our country.

I have very specialized knowledge of the original public land (federal) surveys that make up every bit of property in this state. I continually work this specialty as it is not exactly a brotherhood and I know of no such practioners other than myself and those who associate with me who do so. I know it; and know it well. It has taken years to develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter as it has been horribly disregarded, disrespected and wrongfully applied by the State of Michigan.
